The third Impact X Sydney Summit, Australia’s largest global summit for climate and nature, will address the urgent need for short-term action, calling on all stakeholders to raise ambition.
A collaborative two-day agenda will provide an opportunity for Australia and the Pacific region to demonstrate bold commitment to achieve 2030 goals and accelerated implementation on net zero, nature positive plans.

Andrew joined the Bezos Earth Fund from the World Resources Institute, where he served as President & CEO for over eight years. Prior to this, he served as the World Bank’s Special Envoy for Climate Change from 2010 - 2012. From 2007 to 2010, he served as Director General at the UK Department of International Development. This followed 10 years in East Asia, where he was Head of the World Bank in Vietnam and Indonesia.
Dr. Steer is a Global Agenda Trustee for the World Economic Forum, a Commissioner of the Energy Transitions Commission, a member of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED), co-chair of the Greening the Belt and Road Coalition, and board member of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet. He is also a member of the Advisory Committees of the Asian Development Bank and on the leadership council of Concordia.
Andrew was educated at St Andrews University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Cambridge University. He has a PhD in international economics and finance.

Heidi Lee is an architect and expert in sustainable buildings and urban design with 20 years of experience in creating sustainable cities. After a decade of leadership and advisory roles with Beyond Zero Emissions, Heidi became CEO in 2020. Heidi led Beyond Zero Emissions’ much-lauded, post-covid Million Jobs Plan that showed how renewables and low-emissions projects can deliver 1.8 million new jobs in just five years.

Johan Rockström is an internationally recognised scientist on global sustainability issues. He led the development of the Planetary Boundaries framework for human development in the current era of rapid global change. He is a leading scientist on global water resources, with more than 25 years experience in applied water research in tropical regions, and more than 150 research publications in fields ranging from applied land and water management to global sustainability.
In addition to his research endeavours, which has been widely used to guide policy, Rockström is active as a consultant for several governments and business networks. He also acts as an advisor for sustainable development issues at international meetings including the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conferences (UNFCCC). Professor Rockström chairs the advisory board for the EAT Foundation and the Earth League and has been appointed as chair of the Earth Commission.

Martjin Wilder AM has over 20 years’ experience as a leader in sustainable finance and climate change policy. He is the Founder and CEO of Pollination and has previously held numerous high-profile positions including Chair of the Board of Australian Renewable Energy Agency, Founding Director of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Director of the Climate Council, Chair of Low Carbon Australia Ltd, Chair of WWF (Australia). He is currently Chair and Governing Board Member of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (Vienna).

Kristin Tilley is Australia’s Ambassador for Climate Change and plays a leading role in Australia’s international climate diplomacy, with a focus on engaging with the Pacific and Southeast Asia.
Prior to taking up this appointment in November 2022, Kristin held several senior positions in the Australian Government, including as head of the Office of Supply Chain Resilience in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and leading the Government’s work on waste and recycling, including designing and implementing Australia’s ban the export of waste. Prior to this, Kristin spent more than a decade working on international and domestic climate change policies and programs, including as a senior adviser to Australia’s Climate Change Minister.

Michael Battaglia is mission Lead for Towards net zero mission which looks to build capability to assist Australia's transition to net zero with particular focus on hard to abate sectors (Steel, Agriculture and Transport), regional economies and scaling negative emission technologies. Dr Battaglia was an advisor to the LETs soil carbon area, has held governance on multiple international and international collaborations include the $400M CGIAR Dryland Cereals and Legumes Program, the DFAT Australia-Vietnam Innovation collaboration, and multiple national programs on carbon accounting and mitigation of emissions from agriculture. He received the IUFRO global science excellence prize for contributions to forest systems modelling and carried out the first Australian assessments of our plantation estate vulnerability to climate change. He was a founder and a Board Director for FutureFeed, a company that is commercializing anti-methanogenic seaweed to tackle livestock emissions. I am a recipient of the US$1M Jens Bergfor Global Food Prize, AFR sustainability award winner and a Finalist in the Australian Museum Eureka Applied Environmental Award.
Paul Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, author and activist who has dedicated his life to environmental sustainability and changing the relationship between business and the environment. He is one of the environmental movement’s leading voices, and a pioneering architect of corporate reform with respect to ecological practices. His work includes founding successful, ecologically conscious businesses, writing about the impacts of commerce on living systems, and consulting with heads of state and CEOs on economic development, industrial ecology, and environmental policy. Paul is Founder of Project Drawdown, a non-profit dedicated to researching when and how global warming can be reversed. The organization maps and models the scaling of one hundred substantive technological, social, and ecological solutions to global warming.

Ralph Regenvanu is Vanuatu’s Minister for Climate Change Adaptation, Energy, Environment, Meteorology, Geo-Hazards and Disaster Management. He has previously served as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and as Foreign Minister, and is currently serving his fifth term as the Member of Parliament for Vanuatu’s capital city – which is also Vanuatu’s largest urban centre - Port Vila. From 2013 until 2015, Ralph was co-chair of the taskforce which was responsible for developing Vanuatu’s ‘National Sustainable Development Plan 2016-2030’. He is currently the Pacific Ministerial Champion for Loss and Damage.

Today, Susan uses her expertise to work with mainstream organisations and communities in the provision of cultural competency and immersion sessions as well as social planning processes. Susan is part of the group known as the Stolen Generations and has lived experience of the trauma associated with removal, loss, dispossession and disconnection.

The authority is an independent statutory body established under the Climate Change Authority Act 2011 to provide expert advice to the Australian Government on climate change policy and has been in operation since 1 July 2012.
The authority plays an important role in the governance of Australia's climate change mitigation policies including by providing independent advice on:
- the preparation of the Annual Climate Change Statement to Parliament; and
- greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets to be included in new or adjusted nationally determined contributions (NDC).
The authority also undertakes reviews and makes recommendations on:
- the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011, known as the Australia Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme
- the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act 2007, including the Safeguard Mechanism
- other matters as requested by the Minister responsible for climate change or the Australian Parliament.
The authority conducts and commissions its own independent research and analysis.
All reviews include public consultation and all reports are be published on the Authority's web site after they have been given to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy.
The authority is made up of a Chair, the Chief Scientist and up to seven other members.
